After catching ones breath, it isn’t long before one feels the peace of the place settling deep inside. Hours and even days can easily be idled away, watching the local fisherman head out, followed by the ever present flocks of seagulls that understand the business at hand. Or observing the myriad species of local butterflies capering and caroming along whenever a more than a slightly tempestuous gust blows in off the Gulf. Schools of fish can be glimpse just under the placid surface of the ocean. Under the ocean our surface becomes their ceiling, as the school flips and floats and go about their fishy errands. If one is fortunate, and it would seem that luck favors the locals, you will be treated to a display of unfretted fun and the joy of play for plays sake. The local pod of dolphins when the mood strikes them can be seen twisting and turning, leaving the ocean and experience the pure joys of flight, even if only for a fleeting. With a flick of their tail and without even so much as a wiggle of their dorsal, the pods departure is as quick and silent as their arrival.
